Doylestown, P.A. – The wrestling team spilt matches at the Delaware Valley Tri-Match this past Saturday, January 18^th. The Hawks defeated Gettysburg College 41-8, while dropping a 40-6 decision to host school Delaware Valley. After the day, the Hawks dual record is now at 3-6.
 
Kenny Albert (125) went undefeated for the day, have a 7-3 decision over Delaware Valley's Zac Haynes, and winning by forfeit against the Bullets. Dennis Melendez (184/197) also went undefeated, having a 6-1 decision over Connor Gabriel of Delaware Valley and a tech fall decision over Camden Stoops, 16-1.
 
"Kenny Albert was the highlight of the night as he went 2-0 and defeated the #5 ranked wrestler in the country. Kenny is simply figuring it out and improving every match. He has bought into the system and is understanding how to score in all positions. He has a very bright season ahead of him. Dennis Melendez also finished 2-0 on the night and continues to improve. We are moving forward with positive strides as our young squad continues to develop. Next weekend will be a great test as we host a quad meet," says head coach Chris Mazzatta.
 
The Hawks are back in action on January 25^th, when they host the Hunter Tri-Match.
