New York, N.Y. – The men's volleyball team defeated John Jay College 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-23) on Wednesday night, improving to 5-8, 4-1 in CUNYAC, while the Bloodhounds drop to 2-8, 0-5 in CUNYAC.

In the first two sets the Hawks dominated play against the Bloodhounds and in the 3^rd set, the Hawks would jump out to a 9-3 lead by scoring seven points in a row. The Bloodhounds rallied back to make the score 21-21 but the Hawks proved to be too strong and closed out the match and won the set 25-23.

Alexandru Barbulescu led the team with 12 kills and five blocks while Steven Tarquinio had six kills, three digs and three blocks. Senior setter Stanley Martinez had 20 assists, while Ben Crusinberry had six kills.

Korede Griffith led John Jay with seven kills.
