New York, NY - The wrestling team struggled against NYU earlier this evening at Homecoming. They managed to steal a win in one of the weight classes but ultimately lost by a score of 38-6. In defeat, the Hawks slip to 0-4 in head-to-head duals on the year.

Dennis Melendez, wrestling at the 197 pound weight class secured the lone victory for the Hawks as he defeated Mark Papish by a medical forefit, tallying the lone six points the Purple and Gold saw in the competition.

Barry Hart, Declan Gray, Jayden Rice and Nicholas Brutas all fell by decision while William Heine lost by major decision. David Naupari and Narankhuu Ganbaatar each were defeated by a technical fall. The Hawks forfeited  the 1`25 pound and heavyweight classes.

The wrestling team hits the mats once again when they take on the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, December 12 at 11am.
