BOX SCORE 2 JAMAICA, NY - The Hunter men's volleyball team continued their undefeated start in CUNYAC play with two victories on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks swept Brooklyn College and College of Staten Island in a CUNYAC multi-match hosted by York College. The Hawks improve to 13-8 on the season and 10-0 in CUNYAC play.
Hunter 3 Brooklyn 0The Hawks controlled the match from the beginning as they won each set by a score of 25-9. The Hawks used strong attacking play at the net, led by
Ben Crusinberry who smashed a team-high 12 kills with a robust .611 hitting percentage. The Hawks combined for 14 kills in the first set, 15 in the second and 13 in the third set.
Steven Tarquinio was excellent as well chipping in with eight kills.
Hunter 3 Staten Island 0The Hawks continued their strong play in all facets of the game as they defeated the Dolphins by the scores of; 25-7, 25-14 and 25-12. The Hawks once again had double digit kills in each set led by a balanced attack with Crusinberry,
Benjamin Cassidy and
Brandon Kohler all chipping in with seven kills apiece. Gary Anderson Jr had an excellent all around game as the freshman had 22 assists to go along with six kills.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday March 10 when they will travel to New Jersey to take on Ramapo College at 7pm.
