Wrestling Goes 0-3 at North/South Duals

Three Wrestlers Earn Wins

Nick Brutus earned two wins on the day at the North/South Duals this past weekend.
Collegeville, Penn. - Hunter College wrestling went 0-3 at the North/South Duals this past weekend, falling to Rhode Island College, Ursinus College and Western New England University.

The Hawks are now 1-11 this season.

Three wrestlers got individual wins in the 34-14 loss to Rhode Island to start the day. Jaydon Rice won a 6-5 decision over Stephen Masi before Hunter's Nick Brutus would get a win over Vincent Drago. Dennis Melendez ended the match with forfeit victory.

Ursinus would defeat Hunter 48-5 later in the day as Melendez was the only Hawk to record a win in the match.

In the team loss to Western New England, Barry Hart, Brutus and Melendez each collected wins for Hunter. Hart won by major decision, while Brutus and Melendez each recorded victories by pinfall.

The Hawks will return to action on Friday, Jan. 15 when they travel to Centenary College for a 7 p.m. match.
