New York, NY – The wrestling team played host to Centenary University to kick off the Homecoming slate earlier this afternoon in the Sportsplex. The Hawks had a tough outing against a very competitive Cyclone team and managed just one victory as they fell by a final score of 48-6.
Hamad Amir and
Elliot Natanov both lost in their respective weight classes by falls at 5:30 and 2:00 respectively while
John Sherlock was defeated by an 18-10 major decision.
William Heine was taken down by Alec Donovan at 157 pounds by an 8-1 decision while
Maksimilian Garkusha was defeated by a tech fall 16-1. Teammate
Anthony Fitzsimmons also came up short with a fall at 2:19 to competitor Etiini Udott.
Nick Brutus, wrestling at 174 pounds, secured the lone victory for the Hawks by way of a Cyclone forfeit.
The Hawks have a quick turnaround as they're back in action tomorrow, December 3
rd when they take on the Violets of NYU at 11am.
