Cortland, NY – The Hunter wrestling team competed against SUNY Cortland and Oswego State earlier today in a tri-match. The Hawks were shut out in each of the two matches, falling by scores of 57-0 and 53-0 to Cortland and Oswego respectively.
The Purple and Gold had six wrestlers compete in each of the two matches but were unable to come away with victories. Against Cortland, each of the wrestlers were served losses by either a fall or tech fall. However, against Oswego,
William Heine was narrowly edged by opponent Rocco Russo in the 157 pound weight class by a 7-5 decision. Both
Nick Brutus and
Maksimilian Garkusha were downed by major decisions.
The Hawks are back in action on the weekend of February 25 when they send a contingent to the NCAA East Regionals.
