BOX SCORE 2 New York, NY - Hunter College men's volleyball improved to 5-0 in conference play after defeating John Jay College and Brooklyn College on Saturday in a CUNYAC Tri-Match.
The Hawks are now 17-4 this season and remain undefeated in the league.
Hunter got a win over Brooklyn College early in the day, sweeping the Bulldogs in three before getting a three-set victory over John Jay in the afternoon.
The Purple and Gold defeated the Bloodhounds with scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-16, hitting .200 and holding John Jay to a .020 hitting percentage.
Steven Tarquinio led the Hawks with six kills, while
Benjamin Cassidy and
Matthew Zukowski added five each.
Nicolas Sanchez tallied 14 assists and Joe Muir recorded a team-high 11 digs.
Hunter posted 11 blocks in the John Jay win, while the Bloodhounds recorded just two.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they travel to New Paltz for a 7 p.m. game.
