BOX SCORE 3 New York, NY - Hunter College men's volleyball went 3-0 this past weekend, defeating Bard College on Friday before taking two matches against The Sage Colleges and Penn State Behrend.
The #10 ranked Hawks improve to 20-4 this season and continue to be undefeated in CUNYAC play.
Hunter 3, Bard 0
The Purple and Gold handed the Raptors a loss on Friday night in three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-12.
Michael Jazgarski led the way with seven kills, while
Matthew Zukowski and
Brandon Kohler followed with six each.
Nicolas Sanchez notched 24 assists in the win, while adding a team-high 12 digs.
Joseph Muir chipped in ten digs and
Cyrus De Guzman tallied five blocks to lead the Hawks on defense.
The Hawks recorded a .312 hitting percentage while holding Bard to a mark of -.034.
Hunter 3, Sage 0
On Saturday the Hawks traveled to the Sage Colleges for a Tri-Match, first getting a three-set win over Sage, featuring scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-18.
Jagarski led the team on offense for the second-straight match with 10 kills, followed by
Steven Tarquinio's nine and
Benjamin Cassidy's seven. Tarquinio had just one error for a team-high .667 hitting percentage and led the Hawks with seven blocks.
Sanchez paced the Purple and Gold with 33 assists, while tallying a team-high seven digs in the victory.
Hunter 3, Penn State Behrend 1
Hunter finished off the weekend with a four-set win over the Lions with scores of 25-27, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-19.
Ben Crusinberry recorded 16 kills in the win with Kohler following with 15. Kohler had just one error off 23 attacks for a team-high .609 hitting percentage, while Jazgarski added ten kills for the Hawks.Â
Sanchez added 49 assists as Muir led the squad on defense with 17 digs.Â
The Hawks return to action on Thursday, March 23 when they travel to Medgar Evers for a 7 p.m. match.
