BOX SCORE 2 Glenside, PA - Hunter College men's volleyball split its matches at the Arcadia Tournament on Sunday, falling to Arcadia University before getting a three-set win over Wilkes University.
The Hawks are now 2-3 this season after starting the 2018 campaign two weekends ago. Libero
Joseph Muir was named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts.
Arcadia 3, Hunter 0
The Hawks started the day with a loss to Knights in three close sets with scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-23.
The Purple and Gold hit just .140 in the match, while Arcadia posted a mark of .280, getting the edge in kills (36-32) and blocks (15-3) over the Hawks.
Benjamin Cassidy led the team on offense with nine kills and a .412 hitting percentage, while
Blake Hogan registered seven kills. Alec Hogan added 27 assists in the loss.
Hunter 3, Wilkes 0
The Purple and Gold finished the day with a victory over the Colonels, featuring scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-20 to earn their second win of the season.
Hunter's offense came through, posting a hitting percentage of .384, while holding Wilkes to a percentage of .111. The Hawks recorded 17 blocks, led by four blocks each from
Daniel Dobrogowski and Cassidy.
Daniel Kim led the team with 12 kills, while
Michael Jazgarski chipped in nine. Helford recorded 31 assists and Muir posted a team-high nine digs in the win.
The squad returns to action on February 17 when they travel to Maryland for a tournament hosted by Stevenson University.
