BOX SCORE 2 New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's volleyball got two wins on Saturday at a CUNYAC tri-match, hosted at York College.
With the wins over York and CCNY, the Hawks improved to 11-6 this season and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play with a record of 5-0.
Hunter 3, CCNY 0
Hunter started the day with a three set sweep of the Beavers, featuring scores of 25-18, 25-9 and 25-8. The Hawks hit .429 in the win, while holding CCNY to a mark of -.164.
Michael Jazgarski, Quendrim Shala and
Blake Hogan each notched nine kills, with Shala committing zero errors for a .643 hitting percentage.
Benjamin Cassidy followed with six kills of his own. Hogan added a team-high eight digs, while
Daniel Valdez paced the Hawks with 33 assists.
Hunter 3, York 0
The Purple and Gold took three sets from York with scores of 25-10, 25-4 and 25-6, while recording a .634 hitting percentage.
Matthew Zukowski led the team with nine kills and just one error, as
Wilbur Williams followed with six.
Alec Helford recorded 25 assists and a team-high four service aces in the victory.
The Hawks held the Cardinals to a -.250 hitting percentage.
The squad returns to action on March 15 when they compete at the St. Joseph's - Long Island tri-match.
