Ewing, NJ – The women's track and field team continued their outdoor campaign this past weekend competing at the TCNJ Invitational. The squad combined for 17 top-30 finishes which included five top-10 finishers.
The Hawks had a strong showing in the 800m run with Kristy Carlin leading the way in 2:23.53 which was good enough for third place. Teammates Bianca Rey and Emily Tavares clocked in at 2:31.57 and 2:33.15 respectively for 10
th and 12
th place. The times occupy the top three spots in the CUNYAC.
Carlin also accounted for another top-10 finish after tying for ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.35m which was right behind Skylar Gill's leap of 1.40m which placed her eighth. Rey dropped down and competed in the 400H in which she fared well. Stopping the clock at 1:12.14, she set a personal best, placed eighth and posted the second fastest time in the conference so far.
Hunter had solid representation from both Tavares and Emily Guzzardi in the 1500m run. Tavares' time of 5:17.41 earned a 13
th place showing and topped the CUNYAC performance list while Guzzardi finished in 19
th after an effort of 5:24.19.
In the long jump, Gill and newcomer, Miranda Hogan each placed in the top-20. Gill's mark of 3.73m earned 16
th place while Hogan was just behind in 17
th after leaping 3.46m.
The Hawks return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14 when they compete in the Osprey Open hosted by Richard Stockton in Pomona, NJ.
