NEW YORK – The Hunter College women's outdoor track and field team secured its fifth straight conference title at the 2025 CUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Icahn Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Purple and Gold tallied 227 points to edge out Medgar Evers (213). CCNY (106), Lehman (26), and York (6) rounded out the field.
Jamie Risso led the way for the Hawks, grabbing four golds. She took first in the long jump with a mark of 5.36m, as well as the triple with a leap of 10.85m. Tahlea Murray also medaled in the triple jump, grabbing second with a mark of 10.40m. In the 400H, Risso grabbed her third title of the day, as she crossed the tape in 1:13.23. She rounded out her stellar day with another first-place finish in the 100m dash, clocking in at 13.04. She was joined on the podium by Becky Li, who finished in third with a time of 13.63.
Shannon Ferri played a pivotal role in the Hawks' title win as she grabbed three individual titles of her own. She finished the 800m race in 2:32.62 to earn gold, followed immediately by Samantha Suriel, who took silver with a time of 2:45.59. Ferri took her second gold in the 1500m race, as she led the pack with a 5:17.51 finish. The Hawks swept the podium in the race, with Suriel earning another silver as she crossed the tape in 5:37.23, followed by Mikaelle Cesar in third (5:41.74). Her final gold of the day came in the 5000m, where the Hawks once again took all three podium finishes, with Ferri leading at 21:05.12, followed by Suriel, who earned her third medal of the day with a time of 23:18, while Emma Kilroy took bronze (24:46.48).
Murray grabbed another gold for Hunter in the shot put, with a mark of 9.79m, while Nia Novotny took second behind her (8.84m). Murray grabbed her third silver of the day in the 100H, clocking in at 17.89.
Novotny earned her first career title in the javelin, where she threw for 28.91m. Enalyse Pacheco grabbed another silver in the javelin for Hunter, with her toss of 27.05m.
Cesar closed out individual medals with a third-place finish in the 400m race, as she finished in 1:07.52.
Hunter's relay teams both medaled for the Hawks, with the 4x100m team comprised of Li, Murray, Risso, and Salma El Bezzaoui taking second with a combined time of 54.11. The 4x400m team closed out the day with a third-place finish in 4:58.15
