Collegeville, PA – The wrestling tem competed in the North-South Duals hosted by Ursinas this weekend. The event spanned two days with Hunter going 1-3 on the weekend with losses at the hands of Oneonta 33-18, Penn State Mont Alto 24-23, and Penn College 38-25, but finishing on a high note with a win over Keystone, 35-12.
 
Both Paul Wehr and Andrew Cota came away with four wins on the weekend. Wehr, wrestling at 125 pounds, defeated Oneonta's Michael Savello by a score of 19-10 and then pinned his challenger from PSUMA on day one. He then won via forfeit when the Hawks faced Penn College and capped the weekend by pinning Clayton Shaw from Keystone. Meanwhile, Cota, wrestling at 133 pounds, earned his two wins the first day by a 12-1 and 11-1 decisions against Oneonta and PSUMA respectively. He came out on top of a narrow 5-2 decision over Penn College's Ryan Bauer and was awarded a win via forfeit from Keystone College.
 
At 184 pounds, Serjey Thomas posted a 3-1 record on the weekend. He dominated Oneonta's Timothy Rathbun, 18-2 and capped the first day strong with a 21-4 victory over Colby Mattice from PSUMA, 21-4. On day two, his final win came against his Keystone competitor, Brendan Hamilton who he pinned.
 
Newcomer Jacob Radboy, wrestling at 285 pounds, and Jahongir Davronov at 141 pounds each came away with two wins apiece while Gabrial Calderon, Jordan Gonzalez, Shebab Khan and Mento Gjonbalaj all had one win on the weekend.
 
The Hawks return to action with a dual meet against the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point on January 16 which is slated for a 6pm start.
