Kings Point, NY – The wrestling team traveled to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Thursday evening for a dual match against the Mariners. The Hawks were able to snag just two wins out of the 10 weight classes.
 
At 125 pounds, Paul Wehr defeated his challenger, Alex Puglio, by pinning him at 1:47 and adding six points to the team scoring. The only other win for the Hawks came from Jacob Radboy. The heavyweight defeated Dan Dubinsky by way of a 6-4 decision.
 
Nick Karamoshos (141 lbs) and Serjey Thomas (184 lbs) each were defeated by a decision while Andrew Cota (133 lbs) and Jordan Gonzalez (149 lbs) each succumbed to a major decision. Shabab Khan (157 lbs) and Alexander Michelman (165 lbs) were pinned by their opponents.
 
The Hawks return to action on Saturday, January 18 when they compete in the Mid-Winter Classic hosted by Penn College.
