New York, NY - Hunter wrestling traveled to the BMCC gym for a tri-match hosted by NYU. The Hawks took on NYU and Trinity on the mat, dropping decisions 39-17 and 52-0.
In the first match of the day Hunter took the 125 pound match by forfeit over Trinity, Hunter dropped two other weight classes and had a few of their own forfeits that put them in a hole, but senior
Gevorg Arakelov earned a 5 point tech fall in the 184 pound match closing the gap. Fellow senior
Jacob Raboy impressed in his first match of the day pinning his opponent 19 seconds into the 285 Pound match up. The lead that trinity had established proved too much dropping the team score 39-17.
In the second match of the day Hunter was not able to compete in four of the weight classes putting them in a very large hole against NYU. Once again Raboy and Arakelov put up hard fought matches but were out point in both matches dropping the Hawks to the hosts.
Hunter will prepare for the up coming NCAA regionals held on Saturday February 25th at the University of Southern Maine.
