Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's volleyball team extended their win streak to 11 this evening to remain a perfect 11-0 in CUNYAC play with a road sweep over Medgar Evers.
The Hawks now sit at 15-5 overall (11-0 CUNYAC), while the Cougars fall to 4-12 overall and 1-9 in conference. Hunter has dropped only one set in it's past 34 played and this evening continued the streak as the Purple and Gold won 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-7). Hunter logged 34 kills across 73 attempts, hitting for .342 while holding the home team to -.165 with 26 errors.
Cooper Moran paced the Hawks with 29 assists, he also had two blocks and a pair of aces in the win. His brother,
Hunter Moran had a team high eight digs on the night, followed by
Ted Kim and
Jose Mendoza who each added seven. In addition, Kim led the team with nine kills.
Freshman,
Matisse Lee-Maarek followed with seven kills while Mendoza added six of his own.
Niro Osborne led all players with three blocks with Lee-Maarek chipped in with two of his own.
Hunter returns to action tomorrow as the team heads to Lehman College for a 6:00 p.m. first serce.
