Poughkeepsie, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's fencing team delivered a commendable performance at the Vassar Invitational, with several standout efforts from both seasoned veterans and rising newcomers.
In squad play, the men's foil team narrowly missed a victory against Cornell University, showcasing grit and determination throughout the bout. The men's sabre squad, despite competing one fencer short, put up a valiant fight and came close to overcoming Haverford College.
Individually, seniors Andy Gonzalez and Nahuel Muhamad led the charge with stellar performances, earning 8 and 7 victories, respectively. Freshman Isaac Ramirez impressed in his debut season, contributing 4 wins and demonstrating great promise. Meanwhile, David Xing anchored the foil squad with an impressive 6 victories, underlining his consistency and leadership on the strip.
