Poughkeepsie, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's fencing team faced a challenging day of competition, finishing with a 1-4 record but showing resilience and strong individual performances throughout.
The foil squad led the way with a 3-2 record, narrowly missing a victory against Binghamton in a 4-5 loss. Sophomore David Xing delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 12-3 on the day. Isaac Ramirez (9-6) and Chris Lin (8-7) also contributed key wins to the squad's success.
In epee, sophomore Steve Zhu guided the squad to a victory, with Isteaq Zim and Steven Zhang adding crucial wins to help secure the result.
Despite the overall team record, the Hawks showcased their depth and potential, setting the stage for continued improvement in the season ahead.
