Hunter Wrestlers Secure Key Victories at Metro Duals

New York, N.Y.- Hunter College's wrestling team battled fiercely at the Metro Duals today, taking on tough competition from NYU, NJCU, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). The Hawks earned some standout individual victories, showcasing their talent and grit on the mat.

The 149 lbs weight class proved to be a strong point for Hunter, as freshmen Jayden Medina and Justin Riello both recorded impressive wins against NYU's Aiden Tak. Medina displayed dominance with an 11-3 major decision, using relentless offense to secure a commanding victory. Riello followed up with a thrilling performance, pinning Tak to claim a win by fall, demonstrating his finishing prowess and securing crucial points for the Hawks.

Sophomore Botensky Bauzile (133 lbs) earned a hard-fought 10-7 decision over Lucas Torre of NJCU. Bauzile's win highlighted his ability to stay composed and execute effectively in a close match. Bauzile has secured wins in each match of the Hawks' season thus far.

Despite tough matchups against their opponents, Hunter's individual victories underscored the team's depth and potential. The young squad's efforts at the Metro Duals offer a promising glimpse into what lies ahead this season.
