NEWARK, N.J.- The Hunter College women's cross country team traveled to the NJIT Invitational this weekend, where the team placed 7th overall with a conference-best team average time of 21:44.
The Hawks success continues in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), as the squad was led by
Shannon Ferri who ran the fastest time in the CUNYAC in the women's 5k. Her 19:22.4 finish was also a personal-best for the senior, as she finished 11th individually out of 111 total runners.
Mikaelle Cesar also continued to shine, placing 25th with her time of 20:42.3. She was followed by rookie
Maria Gonzalez, who ran a personal-best time of 22:06.9.
Emma Kilroy was next for the Purple and Gold with her time of 22:51.7, ahead of
Melanie Liu, who crossed the tape in 23:37.4. Rounding out finishers for the Hawks was
Gabriela Miranda and Julisa Garcia-Jiminez with respective times of 24:14.7 and 24:46.1.
Hunter returns to the course on Oct. 18 at the St. Joseph's Invitational.
