BRONX, N.Y. – The Hunter College women's cross country team continued its season at the Queensborough Invitational on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.
The Hawks had 10 runners in the women's 5k race, led by freshman Maria Gonzalez, who medaled with a 17th place finish out of 159 runners in 23:42.5.
Rachelle Griffith was Hunter's next finisher, crossing the line in 26:39.3, followed by Gabriela Miranda at 27:16.7. Julisa Garcia Jimenez finished in 27:36.0 ahead of Katherin Cuautli in 27:58.8, and Becky Li at 30:16.8.
Salma El Bezzaoui followed with a time of 30:28.4, while Rubilyn Navarro crossed in 30:32.9. Rounding out the finishers for Hunter were Rawnaa Elshita (36:09.4) and Leila Castillo Diaz (37:41.9).
Hunter returns to the course on Oct. 11 at the NJIT Highlander Invitational in Newark, N.J.
