KINGS POINT, N.Y.- The Hunter College wrestling team continued its season at the Metro Duals on Sunday afternoon, facing off against hosting United States Merchant Marine Academy and New York University.
The Hawks struggled with several key wrestlers out of the line up but saw bright spots from sophomore
Martin Palomeque. In the 157 lbs. division, Palomeque secured a hard fought win over USMMA , despite the match's early end. While leading his opponent in the third period, the Mariner had to forfeit due to injury, giving Hunter its first win of the day. Palomeque also earned an 8-3 decision in his bout against NYU.
Hunter returns to the mat at the New York State Tournament hosted by Onondoga Community College on Nov. 22 where the Hawks look to replenish today's line up and continue to improve.
