NEW YORK — The Hunter College women's indoor track and field team delivered standout performances at the NYU Division III Invitational held at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. The Hawks showcased their talent across multiple events, posting competitive times and solidifying their presence among the region's top Division III programs.
In the sprints, Hunter's athletes displayed their speed and determination. Jamie Risso led the charge in the 60-meter dash, clocking an impressive 8.38 seconds to secure a strong finish. Risso also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 27.27 seconds, further demonstrating her versatility on the track.
Becky Li and Thais Beckford also represented Hunter in the 200-meter dash. Li finished in 28.41 seconds, while Beckford crossed the line at 29.48 seconds, both delivering solid performances against a competitive field.
In the 400-meter dash, Mikaelle Cesar led the way for Hunter with a time of 1:04.96, showcasing her endurance and speed over the quarter-mile distance. Teammates Salma El Bezzaoui (1:13.04), Caera Beightol (1:25.13), and Tamesha Brown (1:28.08) also competed, contributing to Hunter's depth in the mid-distance events.
Hunter's presence extended to the 800-meter run, where Shannon Ferri finished with a time of 2:46.09, displaying grit and determination throughout the race. In the mile run, Touka Medjoubi and Emma Kilroy represented the Hawks, crossing the finish line at 6:15.59 and 6:30.94, respectively.
The Hawks' strong showing at The Armory reflects their commitment to excellence as they continue their indoor season.
