FLUSHING, N.Y. — The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its Men's Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards on Monday, with two Hunter athletes recognized for their performances at the Wilton Wright Invitational. Brian Guillermo was named Track Athlete of the Week, while Brian Arias collected Rookie of the Week honors.
Guillermo recorded the fastest time in the 5,000 meters in the CUNYAC this season, clocking in at 15:57.70 at Southern Connecticut State University. The performance placed him seventh overall and second among Division II competitors, with five of the six runners ahead of him representing Division I or II programs.
Arias also impressed in the 10,000-meter run, posting a time of 35:05.79 — the top mark in the conference this season.
The Hawks return to the track on April 18–19 for the Paul Donohue Invitational at Widener University in Chester, Pa.
