QUEENS, N.Y. - The Hunter College women's outdoor track and field team delivered a strong showing at the Big Hurt Invitational, hosted by St. John's, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and a dominant performance in the field events.
Daria Niebrzydowski led the charge for the Hawks, securing a pair of first-place finishes. She topped the field in the triple jump with a mark of 9.22m and followed it up with another victory in the high jump, clearing 1.46m to complete an impressive sweep.
On the track, Hunter's relay teams turned in standout performances. The 4x100m team of
Tiara Smith,
Orianna Blackman,
Rubilyn Navarro, and
Alicia Clarke raced to a third-place finish in 53.96. The 4x400m relay squad, comprised of Blackman, Smith,
Shannon Ferri, and
Mikaelle Cesar secured a second place finish, with a combined time of 4:36.15.
Ferri also excelled individually, earning a second-place finish in the 1500m race with a time of 5:07.59 to add to the Hawks' strong day.
Hunter returns to action on April 2 at the Kean Cougars Distance Carnival & Throws Throwdown.
