FLUSHING, N.Y. - Fresh off securing their sixth consecutive CUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, the Hawks placed eight athletes on the All-Conference team after another dominant showing across both track and field events.
Hunter captured five individual event titles during the championship meet, powered by standout performances from its veteran core and relay squads.
Senior Shannon Ferri led the way, winning the 1,500 meters in 5:07.85 before claiming gold in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:40.19. Mikaelle Cesar added another first-place finish for the Hawks, taking the 800-meter title in 2:30.66.
In the field events, Taelyn Murray secured a conference crown in the discus with a throw of 34.04 meters, continuing Hunter's strong presence across all disciplines.
The Hawks also showcased their depth in the relays, as the 4x400-meter team of Orianna Blackman, Rachelle Griffith, Alicia Clarke, and Cesar captured first place with a winning time of 4:21.92.
Head coach Marvin Hawkins was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season, while senior Emma Kilroy earned recognition as a member of the conference Sportsmanship Team.
