SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Shannon Ferri led the Hunter College women's outdoor track and field team to another successful meet at the American International College Invitational. The senior placed first in the 5,000m race with her time of 19:25.97, also the best time in current City University of New York Atheltic Conference (CUNYAC) standings. The meet marks Ferri's second straight weekend with a first place finish.
Leila Nouri also ran the 5,000m, placing fourth overall with her time of 21:40.18, the second-best time in the CUNYAC. The Hawks continued to excel in distance races, as
Emma Kilroy and
Amanda Rivera took home top-5 finishes in the 10,000m race, with respective times of 47:39.15 and 50:23.30.
Rachelle Griffith placed third overall in the 400H, crossing the tape in 1:12.30, while
Tiara Smith placed fourth in the 100H in 18.2.
Alicia Clarke rounded out top finishes on the track, taking fifth in the 100m dash (13.3).
In the field,
Daria Niebrzydowski placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.51m, while
Taelyn Murray earned fourth in the shot put with a mark of 10.28m, and fourth in the discus throw at 27.50m.
Hunter returns to action on April 25 at the Vassar Invitational.
