NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Hunter College women's outdoor track and field team posted an impressive day at the Wilton Wright Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut State University, led by Shannon Ferri and Mikaelle Cesar who both posted top-three finishes competing against teams from all three NCAA divisions.

Shannon Ferri had Hunter's top finish of the day, placing second overall in the 5000m race, with a conference-best time of 19:06.76. Mikaelle Cesar also had an impressive day, placing third in the 800m, with her time of 2:2712, also the third-best time in the City University of New York Atheltic Conference (CUNYAC). Additionally, the sophomore ran in the 400H, clocking in at 1:15.75, another top-three conference time. Rookie Alicia Clarke also posted top-three CUNYAC time in the 200m race (27.38), while Melanie Liu and Ewa Ozgstasiewicz recorded the no. 2 and no. 3 CUNYAC times in the 3000m steeplechase, with Liu crossed in the tape in 14:36.42, followed by Ozgastasiewicz in 14:38.91.

In the field, Daria Niebrzydowski continued her stellar season, with a mark of 1.55m in the high jump, a conference-best mark. Rubilyn Navarro had the CUNYAC's third-best finish of the season at 1.40m also in the high jump. Taelyn Murray rounded out top performances for Hunter, as she posted the second-best marks in the CUNYAC the long jump (4.74m), triple jump (10.12m), and the shot put (10.76m).

The Hawks return to action on Sunday for the Mount Saint Mary College Knight Invitational.
