Marrero Earns Tenth Win
Hawk Struggle on the Road

Madison, NJ – After losing his first set 3-6, junior Noel Marrero (Bronx, NY/Lehman) battled back to win the second 6-4 and then took won the super tiebreaker set 12-10 to earn his tenth win of the season, but his would be the only singles match won as the Hawks fall to Drew University in a non-conference men's tennis match Thursday afternoon in Madison, NJ.

The Hawks trailed 2-1 following doubles play as the first-year duo of freshmen Wendell Williams (Bronx, NY/Lehman) and Andres Gonzalez (Hastings, NY/Hastings) attempted to keep the Hawks in the match with a 9-8 win at third doubles. However, the Rangers were able to win first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles to improve to 8-5 on the year.

The Hawks now fall to 9-2 on the year and will be back in action on Saturday when they head to Staten Island, NY for the second time this week to make-up Tuesday's rain-out with the College of Staten Island. The Hawks trail 2-1 after doubles play when that match resumes at 4:00 p.m.
