Men’s Tennis Fall to Skidmore in NCAA Opening Round

Middlebury, VT – Freshman Yevgeny Perepelov (Brooklyn, NY/Keystone National) had an impressive win, defeating Luke Granger 6-1, 6-0 of Skidmore, but the Hawks weren't able to grab any other matches as they fall to Skidmore College 5-1 after making the program's first ever appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament that was hosted by Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont.

Skidmore took a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles play taking an 8-3 win at first and second doubles, while coming back from a 4-2 deficit at third doubles to win 8-4. In singles, Perepelov gave the Hawks hope by cutting the lead to 3-1, but the Thoroughbreds would gain wins at third and sixth singles to advance to the second round.

In what was one of the most successful seasons in the program's history, the Hawks close things out with a 15-4 record after winning the program's first CUNY Athletic Conference Championship since 1988 and became the first team other than Baruch to win a championship in the team based format which was adopted in 2005.
