Flushing, NY – On Friday, April 15, the men's tennis team took on cross town rival Baruch College in a conference matchup. After taking two of the three doubles matches, the Hawks struggled in singles play, dropping five of six to find themselves at a 6-3 disadvantage at the conclusion of the match. With the loss, Hunter moves to 6-3, 5-2 CUNYAC while their counterparts remain undefeated at 9-0, 6-0 in conference play.
Arthur Kapatanakis and Stanislav Tsoy teamed up at third doubles and outplayed opponents Brian Adler and Steven Zak 8-5. The team of Luis Quintero and Roy Forberg defeated Aydar Suleymanov and Cris Jenkins by default to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
Quintero again won by default over Suleymanov, but it would be the only singles win Hunter would manage to get as Forberg in the two slot down to Robbie Frishling-Sosman in the six slot all lost their respective matches. Thomas Lin was the only Hawk to push a third, but eventually fell to Phyllip Bleustein.
The Hawks are back in action on Thursday, April 21 when they take on the Cardinals of York College at 3:00pm. The contest will be played on York's campus.
