MADISON, NJ - The Drew University men's tennis team topped Hunter College, 8-1 at the Drew Tennis Courts on Wednesday evening.
Hunter drops to 7-6 overall while Drew improves to 8-5 with its victory.
Yevgeny Perepelov nabbed the lone victory for the Hawks as he knocked off Raul Smego at first singles. Perepelov dropped the first set 7-6 before rebounding to grab the second 6-2. The Hawk then claimed the 10-3 tiebreak for the hard fought victory.
Hunter found itself in an early hole after losing at doubles, enabling the Rangers to take a 3-0 lead.
Following the victory at first singles, the Rangers rattled off five straight victories to take the match, 8-1.
Hunter will be absent from competition until next Wednesday, April 25th when it hosts a CUNYAC Quarterfinal match against the College of Staten Island at 3pm.
