New York, N.Y. – On Thursday evening, February 28, the men's volleyball team hosted the Beavers of CCNY in a CUNYAC contest. After dropping the first set, the Hawks stormed back to take the next three, earning a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-21). With the win, Hunter moves to 3-7, 2-2 CUNYAC while CCNY's record stands at 5-5, 2-1 CUNYAC.

Braien Otsla accounted for 14 of Hunter's 55 kills while Matthew Ng and Moshood Jinad chipped in with 13 and 11 kills respectively. Setter
Stanley Martinez recorded a game high 33 assists in the victory.
For CCNY, Brian Yik Lim led the attack with 11 total kills while Rubin Taipi and Derell Williams combined for 15 of the Beaver's 32 total kills. Bryan Hu and Anthony Reyes had an even split of 30 assists in the loss while teammate Bobby Xihe Xie posted a team high 6 digs.
Despite registering two more team kills than the visitors, Hunter fell by three (22-25) in the first to fall behind early 1-0. However, they stormed back with powerful consecutive sets that saw a total of two errors while hammering home a combine 29 kills for a .650 and .700 hitting percentage in the second and third respectively to go up 2-1 (25-14, 25-18). In the fourth and final set, the Hawks proved to be too much to handle as they came away with the 25-21 set win to put the nail in the coffin on a 3-1 match.
