Men's Tennis Wins Fourth Straight Match by Dominating York, 8-1

Jamaica - The Hawks won their fourth consecutive CUNYAC conference matchup by defeating York College 8-1 on Monday, April 15th at the York College Courts.  
 
Hunter's Yevgeny Perepelov and Damen Ellingson teamed up in No. 1 doubles for an 8-1 victory over York's Gary Reynoso and Michael Benavidez. Daniel Rabinovich and Kevin Wang won 8-5 against York's Iheanyi Agbor and Andrzej Moczulkski in the No. 2 doubles play. Finally at No. 3 doubles, Hunter's Bilal Naeem and Nick Duez completed the doubles play sweep winning 8-3 against Elnathan Atwell and Anthony Omoragbon.
   
In singles competition, Hunter won five out of the six matches improving to 4-1 in the CUNYAC conference.
 
At No. 1 singles, Yevgeny Perepelov defeated Gary Reynoso (6-0, 6-1), at No. 2 singles Damen Ellingson picked up a (7-5, 6-4) victory against Iheanyi Agbor, and Daniel Rabinovich continued the Hawks rally with a (6-3, 6-1) win at No. 3 singles over Michael Benavidez.
 
Hunter's Kevin Wang suffered a 6-1, 6-4 defeat to York's Andrzej Moczulksi at the No. 4 singles. But the Hawks responded behind Bilal Naeem's 6-1, 6-1 victory against York's Anthony Omoragbon. At the No. 6 singles, Nick Deuz won by default.
 
The Hawks look to continue their streak against CUNYAC opponents with a matchup on Tuesday, April 16th at the USTA National Tennis Center against John Jay College at 3:30 p.m.
