Hawks Men's Tennis Falls to John Jay, 5-4

RESULTS

Flushing, NY - The men's tennis team at Hunter were defeated in a close 5-4 CUNYAC conference matchup against John Jay on Tuesday, April 16th at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
 
Hunter won the No. 3 doubles match as Daniel Rabinovich and Paul Saint-Donat defeated their opponents 8-5. John Jay was victorious in the first two matches, Hunter's No. 1 doubles duo of Yevgeny Perepelov and David Joseph were defeated 9-7, while Damen Ellingson and Binh Luu also lost 8-4 at the No. 2 spot.
 
Trailing John Jay after doubles play, Hunter's Yevgeny Perepelov won his No.1 singles match (6-2, 7-5) and David Joseph won his No. 2 singles match (6-1, 6-2). The Hawks fell in the No. 3 singles match as Damen Ellingson was defeated (7-5, 6-4).
 
Hunter's Daniel Rabinovich took care of his No. 4 singles opponent (6-3, 7-6, (7-2)), but then John Jay recorded wins at the No. 5 and No.6 singles to win the match 5-4.
 
The Hawks drop to an even 5-5 overall record with a 4-2 CUNYAC conference record. Hunter's men's tennis team are up against Drew University at 4:30 p.m. on April 17th.
