Men's Tennis Falls to Baruch 5-1 in CUNYAC Tournament Semifinal

The Hunter men's tennis team lost 5-1 on Sunday, April 28th in the 2013 CUNYAC Tournament semifinals to Baruch at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
Baruch took an early lead after earning two doubles points. Hunter's Damen Ellingson and Binh Luu lost to Artem Gorbachevskiy and Joe Laskowski 8-3 at the No.2 spot, then at the No. 3 spot Daniel Rabinovich and Paul Saint-Donat fell 8-5 to Phillip Bluestien and David Garzon.
Hunter's All-American Yevgeny Perepelov teamed up with David Joseph at the No.1 spot and took down Baruch's Danil Ovechkin and Guy Goren 9-8 (7-0). The Hawks duo defeated Baruch in the tie-breaker round with seven consecutive points in thrilling fashion.
In singles, Baruch's won at the No. 6, 5, and 3 spots defeating Hunter 5-1. The Hawks' Binh Luu lost (6-0, 6-1) at No. 6 singles, Paul Saint-Donat fell (6-0, 6-2) at No. 5 singles, and Damen Ellingson was defeated (6-1, 6-2) at No. 3 singles.
The Hawks are eliminated and drop to 6-8 overall while Baruch advances to the 2013 CUNYAC Championship game against Staten Island.
