Farmingdale, NY - The Hunter College men's tennis team opened up their 2014 season with a 6-3 win on Friday afternoon over Farmingdale State.

The Hawks got 4 singles victories from Gonzalo Saez Garcia (6-2, 6-1), Carlos Saavedra (7-5, 2-6, 6-1), Matthew Balilo (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) and David Joseph (6-2, 6-1).

In doubles Saez-Garcia and Balilo teamed up for an 8-5 victory as did Joseph and Saavedra.

The Hawks return to action Saturday afternoon with two matches against Lehman College and Juniata College at the USTA National Tennis Center.
