Flushing, NY - The Hunter Hawks men's tennis team returned to the court with a resounding 8-1 victory over College of Staten Island. With the win the Hawks move to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC play.
The Hawks started the match sweeping doubles 3-0.
Carlos Saavedra and Gonzalo Saez-Garcia defeated Timur Shamuradov and Daniel Ursomanno 8-3.
David Joseph and
Matthew Balilo teamed up for an 8-3 victory over Ed Ruffe and James Chuenpratum. Misha Kusnetsov and
Roman Omelchenko secured the sweep with an 8-6 victory over Mitchell Voloshin and Joel Youngberry.
In singles, the Hawks went 5-1 with victories by Saez-Garcia, Joseph, Saavedra, Kuznetsov and Omelchenko. Of the 14 singles sets played the Hawks only lost three.
The Hawks return to action Thursday when they travel to Brooklyn to take on the Brooklyn College Bulldogs. The match is set to begin at 3:30pm.
