Jamaica, NY – The Hunter men's tennis team advanced to the CUNYAC Semifinals on Friday with a 6-0 victory against York College.
 
The Hawks were up 3-0 after sweeping the doubles competition. #1 doubles pair Gonzalo Saez-Garcia & David Joseph and #2 doubles pair Carlos Saavedra & Daniel Rabinovich each won their match's 8-0. #3doubles pair Bilal Naeem & Alex Shahban won their match 8-1.
 
Needing just two victories in the singles competition to advance, the Hawks would get a 6-1, 6-1 victory from #1 singles Saez-Garcia and the clinching victory from #6 Naeem winning 6-0, 6-0. Minutes later, #2 singles Joseph would conclude his match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
 
The Hawks advance to the semifinals where they will take on Brooklyn College, Sunday afternoon at 3pm. The semi-finals will be played at Queens College.
