Full ResultsPoughkeepsie, NY - On November 15, the women's fencing team competed against six opponents at the Vassar College Invitational. They came home with a 1-5 record with their only victory coming against Yeshiva. They lost to Sacred Heart, University of Florida, Wellesley College, Tufts University and Haverford College.
Allison Berdichevsky dominated her opponents, going 13-2 at the tournament as the foil squad went 3-3 on the day as a team, winning 29 bouts and losing 25. The foil team came together with a 9-0 victory over Yeshiva, when
Yaeli Lora,
Yiman Chen, and
Jessica Hall won all three of their bouts.
The women's sabre team struggled but did tally a 7-2 victory over Yeshiva, when all three fencers, including
Tina Chen, who won all three of her bouts, defeated an opponent. In Epee, each of three fencers
Meagan Desir,
Norine Chan and
Lai Chung won a bout vs Tufts.
The Hawks return to action on Friday, December 4 when they host Army at Homecoming at 7pm in the Sportsplex.
