FLUSHING, NY - The Hunter men's tennis team won their third match of the season Wednesday afternoon defeating John Jay 9-0 at the USTA National Tennis Center.

The Hawks dominated doubles play winning at #1 & #2 8-0. In the #3 doubles matchup, the Hawks came away victorious 8-5.

1. Gonzalo Saez-Garcia/Matthew Balilo (HUNTER) def. Yevgeniy Remennik/Luis Chirinos (JOHNJAY) 8-0

2. Carlos Sala/F Le Goupil-Maier (HUNTER) def. Richard Mills/Oscar Wu (JOHNJAY) 8-0

3. Rodolfo Reynoso/Rudy Saint-Louis (HUNTER) def. Kelvin Rodriguez/Ejaz Ahmed (JOHNJAY) 8-5

In the singles competition, #1 singles player & CUNYAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week Gonazalo Saez Garcia dispatched his counterpart in straight sets winning 6-0, 6-0 to extend his CUNYAC singles record to 11-0 during his career. The next match to finish was at #6 singles with Roman Omelchenko winning his matchup 6-0, 6-0.

#2 singles Carlos Sala won his match 6-1, 6-0, he was followed by #3 singles and CUNYAC & ECAC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, Florimond Le Goupil-Maier who defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1.

Matthew Balilo finished next at #4 singles winning his matchup 6-0, 6-3. Rodolfo Reynoso wrapped up the Hawks sweep at #5 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
