Madison NJ - The Hunter College men's fencing team took on four opponents at the Drew Fall Classic this past weekend and went 1-3 on the day. They secured a tight win over Temple University (14-13) but were just edged by The College of New Jersey (14-13) and also were defeated by Drew (24-3) and Rutgers (18-9).
The epee squad consisting of
Aaron Buachie,
James Ferraiolo and
Bernard Slawomirski came out on top in three of the four matches, topping Rutgers 6-3, TCNJ 6-3 and narrowly defeating Temple with a 5-4 score. Meanwhile, the trio of fencers competing in sabre scored an 8-1 victory over Temple, but dropped their other three. Comprised of

Hector Moran and
Andrew Wang, they were narrowly edged by TCNJ 5-4 and 6-3 by Rutgers. Rounding out the day was the foilers who went were unable to muscle out a win.
The Purple and Gold are back in action on Sunday, November 13 when they travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete in the Vassar College Invitational.
