Men's Tennis Stopped by Oneonta, 7-2

The Hawks picked up wins at top flight and second singles.

The men's tennis team fell to Onenanta College Saturday, April 9th, at an overall score of 7-2. The Hawks dropped all three doubles matches, but picked up two wins in the singles portion of the contest. Hunter falls to an overall record of 4-3, but still remains undefeated in CUNY conference play.

Carlos Sala and Gonzalo Saez Garcia were the lone Hawks to pick up wins. In top-flight singles, Garcia dominated his opponent, winning in two sets with a score of 6-1, 6-2. The recent CUNYAC player of the week, Garcia, improves to a 4-2 overall record. In second flight singles, Sala had to fend off his opponent in the first set, but ultimately stole the win in two sets 7-6, 6-3. Sala boasts an undefeated 6-0 singles record on the season.

In the Hawk's closest doubles match, the top flight pairing of Sala and Florimon Le Goupil-Maier took Onteonta's Michael Nelson and Nicholas Fox to the bring but ultimately fell, 8-6.

The Hawks look to rebound back when they take on conference opponent City College of New York Tuesday, April 12th, at 3:30 PM in Crotona Park, Bronx.
