Brooklyn, NY - The men's tennis team remained a perfect 6-0 in CUNYAC action and improved their overall record to 6-3 after defeating the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College by an 8-1 score. The Purple and Gold swept the doubles portion of the match and then took five of the six singles matches.
Florimond Le Goupil-Maier and
Gonzalo Saez Garcia blanked their Brooklyn opponents at top flight doubles, 8-0. Meanwhile, the duo of
Carlos Sala and
Filip Koritysskiy grinded out an 8-6 win at second doubles while
Rudy St. Louis and
Anthony Stefanidis managed to earn the Hawk's third win by a score of 8-5.
Garcia, Sala and Goupil-Maier competed at first through third singles and each won handily over their opponents in scores of 6-1/6-1, 6-0/6-0 and 6-0/6-1 respectively. Koritysskiy was pushed to three sets but came away with the victory while
Hamza Sadhra secured the Hawk's final win after defeating Eved Modek at six singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Hunter continues their 2016 campaign when they compete against Baruch College on Friday, April 15 at 4:30 pm. The match will be played at the Alley Pond Tennis Center.
