New York, NY - Hunter College men's tennis dropped its season opener on Sunday to Yeshiva University with a score of 9-0 at the Binghampton Raquet Club.
Florimond Le Goupil Maier led the fight in singles competition at the #1 court, falling to his opponent with scores of 6-3 and 6-0. Hunter's
Joel Cantila put up six points against Yeshiva at #3, eventually dropping the match, 6-4 and 6-2.
The duo of
David Joseph and Cantila had the best chance in doubles competition at #2, falling to Eitan Rudansky and Elon Papis, 8-6.
The squad returns to action on March 14 when they travel to Purchase College for a 3:30 p.m. match.
