New York, NY – The Hunter men's tennis team secured the #2 seed in the 2017 CUNYAC/HSS Men's Tennis Championship Tournament as announced by the conference. The Hawks earned a bye into the semifinals and will begin play on Sunday, April 30
th.
The Hawks capped the regular season with an overall mark of 7-6 and a CUNYAC mark of 5-1 to earn the second seed in the tournament behind only Baruch. The format of the tournament features the top-six teams with the first and second seeds earning a first round bye into the semifinals.
The Hawks await the winner of Staten Island and John Jay and will begin play on Sunday, April 30
th at the tennis courts at College of Staten Island. First serve is scheduled for a 2:30pm start. Should they win, they will advance to the CUNYAC finals which will be held on the campus of CSI on Thursday, May 4
th with a 3pm start.
Over the last two years, Hunter has claimed the CUNYAC crown, defeating Baruch each time. The Purple and Gold will attempt a three-peat this year with an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
