Staten Island, NY - Hunter College men's tennis improved to 2-0 in CUNYAC play this week with a 6-3 win over the College of Staten Island.
Florimond Le-Goupil-Maier started off singles play for the Hawks by getting a 6-0 and 6-1 win over his opponent at the no. 1 court.
Nasser Ghaffar and
Joel Cantila followed with victories at no. 2 and no. 3, before
Filip Koritysskiy got a win at the no. 4 court.
Kortysskiy managed to hold off his Dolphin opponent in the third set with a score of 10-7.
The Hawks took two of the three doubles matches as the duo of Goupil-Maier and Ghaffer got an 8-3 win and Cantila and
Ryan Hwang finished off Staten Island with 8-4 victory.
The Hawks return to action on Monday, April 3 when they host York College at 4 p.m.
