Men's Tennis Advances to CUNYAC Finals With Win Over CSI

Hawks Defeat Dolphins, 5-2

Staten Island, NY - Hunter College men's tennis got a 5-2 win over College of the Staten Island on Sundy in the semifinal round of the CUNYAC Championships.

The Hawks will advance to the finals against #1 seeded Baruch on Thursday.

The #1 doubles team of Nasser Ghaffar and Florimond Le Goupil Maier started the day off with an 8-4 win over their opponents in doubles competition. Joel Cantila and David Joseph followed that up with a win of their own at the #2 court with a score of 8-3. 

In singles play, Le Goupil-Maier finished off this opponent at the #2 court with scores of 6-1 and 6-1 to score points for the Hawks.

Cantila and Filip Koritysskiy finished off the Dolphins with victories at #3 and #5 respectively to solidify the 5-2 win over CSI.

The Purple and Gold will play in the finals on Thursday, May 4th at 3 p.m. at the CSI Tennis Center.
