QUEENS, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's tennis team continued its season on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-5 in a hard fought contest to non conference opponent, Sarah Lawrence.
Hunter (1-1) took two of the three doubles matches to start the day as Anil Singh and William Zimmerman teamed up at the no. 2 slot for a 6-4 victory, followed by Krishna Arya and Jason Parmar, who grabbed a decisive 6-3 win in the third spot.
Singles play started out strong for the Hawks, with Alexander Hagiu grabbing a win at no. 1 (6-1, 6-3). Raymond Leu took home a three-set win at no. 2, bouncing back from a 3-6 loss in the first set, claiming the next two frames (3-6, 7-5, 10-4).
The Griffins (2-2) took home wins in the final four singles matches as they slipped past Hunter for the 4-3 win.
The Hawks return to the court on April 2 as they travel to Farmingdale State College for another non-league match at 4:30 p.m.
